Crows, an expression of rasping, restless melancholy, seem to float through the air as harmlessly as loose pieces of the soul.
Detached from the soul, from people, from the world, they are exposed to the wind, the breath, the smallest movement of air; always in motion, yet held by invisible threads. |
Boxes/Boxen
Sometimes we shy away from reality, living life in a bubble and hiding that which we want no one to see. On the one hand, boxes are a symbol of our detachment from reality. On the other hand, boxes exist for their content to be revealed. It may be surprising to look inside and find something different than expected. Or perhaps the hidden interior is already too big, swelling outside, no longer wanting to hide.

EVERYTHING IS PAIN
The series "Everything is pain" shows daily objects, tools and finds of use as a metaphor of the pain one can feel in just not doing more than being.
Every step can hurt, every word can hurt and every single little action we do every day can hurt.

Flying objects-Fliegende Objekte
Childhood-Kindheit
This flying object deals with the fact that childhood can be harmful. As naive, innocent and happy you are as a child, as dependent, helpless and powerless you are.
This work contains various found objects that I associate with childhood. There are three levels, symbols of the development we are all going through. The objects end up in a box, because that's what we have to do: deal with it, put it away, hide it, live with it and never talk about it, ever.

VULVA - 2018
Found object. I have found this perfect piece of styrofoam (as you can see it now, of course without paint) in the bins and my association was immediately a Vulva.
And as the female genitals are rarely shown in general in a nice and not sexistic way I wanted to show the whole beauty of the female genital in all parts: Mons pubis, Vagina, Labia majora, Labia minora, Clitoris, Urethra opening, perineum. It is not just "a hole".
It is a normal part of a body.
